With awards deadlines now out of the way it’s full steam ahead for the final few hurdles towards the end of our degree! With exhibitions to plan and presentations to prep for there’s never a spare moment, but its all coming together.
The first exhibition is our Degree show in Cheltenham and the second is D&ADs annual New Blood show in London. Both have great potential and have some very exciting prospects.
Mcdonalds Happy Meals ‘Kids and Boxes’
Leo Burnett have done it again with a great Mcdonalds ad. Children can have all the toys in the world, yet something as simple as a cardboard box can bring hours of fun and mischief! A simple truth brought to life.

They say a little hard work never hurt anyone, but it certainly leaves you feeling a little more tired! With meetings, emails and briefs everywhere we look it’s an arduous task to keep on top of it all but thankfully everything is under control! But we’ll try keep everything up to date as things are progressing!
The above photo is a work in progress. It’s a single element for our campaign for Plan UK. After a bit of rewriting and altering we’ve got something we’re really happy with. It’s all coming together very nicely and can’t wait to have it all completed!
It’ll be something a little different to put into our portfolio and to have a physical mock up as well. Our online portfolio can be found here for a little glimpse at some of the other stuff we’ve come up with: Bolsover&Collins
3 - #DancePonyDance
Once again Wieden and Kennedy have only gone and done it with a little help from Fleetwood Mac, they’ve managed to make a Shetland pony dance (we know it isn’t real but we don’t mind!) in this advert for 3.
Having it’s first airing on Friday on ITV the advert has been making its way around all the social networks over the weekend with a clever little placement of the hashtag #DancePonyDance.
Silly stuff. It Matters.
With radio scripts in the process and a nice little DM piece to complete, the start of this week is very much a copywriters dream!
Trying to convey they power of radio and a charity awareness campaign is what we need to come up with and with much thinking time and probably some dancing we’ll get it done!
Here’s a little sneak peak at a previous charity DM piece we came up with: Pancreatic Cancer Action
It has occurred to us that we’ve been all caught up in Instagram (BolsoverCollins) and we’ve been neglecting our Tumblr a little. So thought it was about time we gave it a little update featuring more words than pictures for once.
We’re struggling to believe that we’re now in March and those final Uni days are coming to an end but we certainly don’t have the time to be worrying about that. With award deadlines coming up and an exhibition to sort out there’s no rest for the wicked!
The third year at University has been unsurprisingly the most challenging yet. With weekly briefs with only a single week turn around its been intense, but the pressure of it all has added a little extra drama! (Who doesn’t like a bit of drama?!)
Having new work having to be produced to a high standard every week has left us with an abundance of campaigns that will only put us in good stead when putting together a new portfolio. With agencies from all over the place coming in its been great to get a wide variety of feedback and opinions on our work.
It’s a busy and hectic time but with more late nights and working lunches we’re sure it’s going to be exciting!
