As an advertising creative team who have just finished University this is an exciting time for us. We’ve just got our results in and are delighted to be graduating with First-Class honours!
We have recently had our Degree Show at the University of Gloucestershire, which was extremely worthwhile and successful for us. It has been a stressful few months leading up to the big event that happened early May. Being elected as the Managing Director and Creative Director of the course ‘company’ we knew it’d be a gruelling process, more so when other members of the ‘company’ dropped like flies.
Our chosen theme was ‘read all about it’. In order to capture the theme we created a newspaper styled catalogue that displayed the talent and work from our course. The theme went down well and all the hard work paid off in the end. Friends and family attended, along with a select few from Local agencies. We had an info graphic piece for Pancreatic Cancer Action as our exhibition piece; it was a great conversation starter and attracted much attention. Standing next to our work, a little too similar to the photo on our name plaque, we managed to speak to some interesting people.
From the exhibition, we were offered work experience at Havas EHS in Cirencester, which we are currently doing. It was nice for our work to be noticed and good to be getting into an agency. If all this isn’t exciting enough, we have the showcase like no over coming up in early July.
The D&AD New Blood Festival combines the best graduating talent from over 70 courses in one little hub at the Old Spitalfields Market, London. It is sure to be a great few days, meeting and greeting a variety of agency folks, along with some exciting workshops for us to attend. It will be interesting to see what opportunities come from this festival.
