It has occurred to us that we’ve been all caught up in Instagram (BolsoverCollins) and we’ve been neglecting our Tumblr a little. So thought it was about time we gave it a little update featuring more words than pictures for once.

We’re struggling to believe that we’re now in March and those final Uni days are coming to an end but we certainly don’t have the time to be worrying about that. With award deadlines coming up and an exhibition to sort out there’s no rest for the wicked!

The third year at University has been unsurprisingly the most challenging yet. With weekly briefs with only a single week turn around its been intense, but the pressure of it all has added a little extra drama! (Who doesn’t like a bit of drama?!)

Having new work having to be produced to a high standard every week has left us with an abundance of campaigns that will only put us in good stead when putting together a new portfolio. With agencies from all over the place coming in its been great to get a wide variety of feedback and opinions on our work.

It’s a busy and hectic time but with more late nights and working lunches we’re sure it’s going to be exciting!

Going international!

After somewhat of a creative FaceTime meeting last night the ideas are just flying out! It’s always nice when you can take one of your earliest campaigns and add to it without diluting it!

We’re excited to get fully into this brief once again and see what we can come up with this time round!

In the mean time keep up to date with all our goings on through our twitter

“KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.”

Social media is taking things to new heights. With the youth getting such bad press over the summer it is great to see so many people wanting to get involved for such a just cause. The main body of the campaign hit the scene with the above video on the 5th of March, so at the time of posting only 3 days ago. The impact and response from the internet has shown how positively social media can work.

Come the 20th of April the campaign steps up. The participants are encouraged to take to the streets and plaster everywhere and everything with Kony’s name.

The positive waves this campaign is making will hopefully have a ripple effect and people will follow suit for other worthy causes.

Where will happiness strike next?

This video is part of Coca-Colas Happiness campaign. It’s both uplifitng and inspiring. The video shows three Filipinos; Joe Marie Ballon, Joey Doble and Leonie Villanueva. These three are all from the Philippines and have moved overseas to work and send money home to provide for their families. This is a very common decision which a lot of Filipinos make. They will often go years without seeing their families choosing to send the money they earn from working better jobs home to provide and pay for necessities than a plane ticket to go home and see them. This is a very selfless act and I cannot express how much respect I have for them in doing so.

Coca-Cola have noticed this and have as part of their Happiness campaign chosen these individuals and provided them with the opportunity to go home and spend time with their families over the holiday season. It’s a moving video although only 5 minutes long it had me on the verge of tears at a number of different points through both happiness and sadness. All and all a really moving piece.

I wanted to avoid a Christmasy post but it would be a shame not to share this video! So Maligayang Pasko to you all!

The numbers are in and it is the above viral which has been the most shared since the 28th of November through to the 5th of December. It racked up an astounding 231,101 Facebook posts, 3,785 Tweets and 82 blog posts. It goes to show that although peoples attention span may be decreasing when it comes to emotion people are still happy to take the time out considering the video is a bit under 5 minutes. It is a lovely video and a lovely message that goes with it by McCann Erikson.
